Share A Bear Hug was an Electric Co. “social experiment” initiative. This grassroots initiative was designed to welcome migrant and refugee families, as well as to foster conversations about kindness and community. We simply collected teddy bears to put in the arms of children who had been separated from their families. A completely inadequate gesture, but one that can provide a small comfort to a kid who really needs a hug. And one that can teach kids who have comfort how lucky they are and how to help someone else.
Many thanks to all who have shown how big your hearts are, especially Kira Crugnale & Tommy Rosenak, who helped kick-start this idea. And the Three Bears of Top Chef Season 15, Bruce Kalman, Joe Flamm and Tyler Anderson, who hosted an amazing fundraising dinner at the iconic Spiaggia. (Also thank you to Cathy & Tony Mantuano. You are the best of the best.) And to all our friends and family who have helped us help these sweet kids, thank you. We love you!

In partnership with Casa Blue, we created the website and digital support for Dr. Joy Buolamwini’s Algorithmic Justice League.
“The Algorithmic Justice League is an organization that combines art and research to illuminate the social implications and harms of artificial intelligence.
AJL’s mission is to raise public awareness about the impacts of AI, equip advocates with resources to bolster campaigns, build the voice and choice of the most impacted communities, and galvanize researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners to prevent AI harms.”

In partnership with Casa Blue, we built the website for OCAD to support the movement against deportations and the criminalization of people.
”OCAD stands for Organized Communities Against Deportations. We’re a group of undocumented, unapologetic, and unafraid organizers building a resistance movement against deportations and the criminalization of immigrants and people of color in Chicago and surrounding areas.”
